Feeling Helpless

I never really gave it much thought if I would ever be immobilized. I thought about it deeply in the last one week, thinking how would my darling daughter and precious hubby go on with their lives without me. I am still thinking how would I go on with my life
This is my story of being thankful to Him for showing me that life is about patience and perseverance.
It was one week flash back when I had a small mishap. I had fallen and slipped down from my grandmother in law's wet toilet. The floor was soo slippery that i didn't managed to get a grip of myself. It happened so fast that I was still in the dazed when it happened.
I'm current recuperating from the fall. Bedridden for an entire weekend, which was agony. I couldn't continue with my training to half marathon. I felt old and lethargic and most of all, I felt useless of myself.
I guess this is how they all thought about themselves. Those patients who are threatened by death must feel even worst of. And at this moment, I could feel the torment and shine away from
family and friends..
Alhamdulillah, my legs
are getting better. I can walk without limping but it does hurt sometimes. But what made me think hard is the qadar and qadar..

Farewells & Goodbyes

This morning, I decided to find and collate my masterpieces. I remembered crafting some poems for the two people who gave a great first impression of the organisation . It was an amazing team of people who worked each other, no matter rain or shine.

The bond was so strong that it did not matter whether the work was part of the key performances indicators or not.We did the work together. As a team.We were like sisters at heart. I wrote this two poems and pasted it on their scrapbooks during their last days in April-May 2011.

This post is dedicated to my lovely ex-colleagues for their warm support and the bond :
             Sheznie Merican & Munira Salim

Stay in Touch

Munira & Shez are our colleague turn friends
they seem to always have a helping hand,
their good vibes bring something to our hearts
but the worst thing to do is coming apart.

Munira & Shez just know how to make our day
even when the day turns grey
they'll give you their very best smile
to make a us happy even for awhile

So if you need someone by your side
Friends will always be there as time goes by
As both of you will embark on a future plan
We hope leaving PETRONAS doesn’t mean, that’s the end!
We ‘re sad that both you guys  are leaving
Please know you’ll be miss so much
We wish you the best of luck in the future
And please, please and please, stay in touch

We still keep in touch till this very day :)

Love,
Nizie

A Farewell Speech: Blood,Sweat & Tears with SPCS

December 27,2011

Dear bosses & fellow colleagues,

I would like to take the opportunity to thank each and everyone of you who have directly and indirectly gave a positive impact to my professional and personal development. I am honoured to be part of the team for the last 2 years, working along side talented people like yourselves , day and night on challenging yet rewarding assignments. It is has been an exciting journey of discovery for me. If not for the great leadership of SPCS, I wouldn't have known what I am really made of. The fun challenging moments had really build my character. Resilience, the power not to give up, the willingness to learn and giving your best shot in whatever we do,brought me to a level where I never thought I could be. Although, I have no idea on my PPA results, I felt like I gave my level best. It's the same feeling, i felt after completing my first half marathon at 2 hours 3 minutes which is my personal best so far :)

Having all of you gathered in this room, all together for the last time before I leave to my new place, makes me sad and blue. I was once loss in transition and envied the other competent planners . But over a short period of months, it changed. I improved and am so grateful to Dali for his kind words. I confided in him thinking ill be a potential m3. N he told me that its never too late. Let this 1.5 mths be the best effort u made in T&E for PTSSB ABP. And that shook me up. For that i thank you. I would also like to thank pn habsah for your guidance , frankness openess & your patience in me. It is from you I learnt the true meaning of speed as a bullet train & quality of gold. U had given me a diverse opportunity n hands on experience in 4 areas in one year -- branding, PTSSB & central planning and portfolio mgmt. Thank you, Nash who kept pushing me to reach pn habsah's speed and quality expectation & entrusted me to assist him on SPCS budget, central planning namely the T&E performance reporting while & VP Scorecard, while Kumuda was away. I thank the heads -chew may, fedora n omar who had been giving nothing but encouraging support . I would also like to thank all of u in this room, planners - Fatin, Ku, Zamani, Rosel, bombarding with q after q; portfolio - Azrul, Kumuda and Seri, chasing over updates on PTSSB MC; branding - Jess,Maz, Aadel, Ben, Elin & OI -Midi, Raihan & Zizi  who i would look for when i need a fresh of breath air other than work. PRF esp zul as well as the budget preparers -cracking our heads on the budget posting. To Ayu, for helping scheduling the big bosses time n arranging for rooms, extending the lights. I personally like her lovely feedback note- senyum selalu walaupun kena marah. Thank you all. You made me a better person, professionally and personally. this is the place i found courage, confidence and the resilience in me, which I never knew I had. And I know as the going gets tougher, the tough SPCS as a team will definitely get going. Keep up the energy, the team spirit n believe u can do it.

Having said that, I do hope this doesnt mean goodbye. Let's keep our networks intact and who knows we might cross path in the near future :)

Btw, does anyone here know who is my secret friend?

Warmest Regards,
Nizie

Why I chose the Muaythai Moves?

Muay Thai is a martial art from Thailand that is also known as Thai Boxing or The Art of the Eight Limbs. Muay Thai is referred to as "The Science of Eight Limbs", as the hands, shins, elbows, and knees are all used extensively in this art. Muay Thai has a long history in Thailand and is now the country's national sport, and becomes one of attractive event for Thailand’s tourism.

Nowadays, Muay Thai becomes more popular as one of exercise technique for body fitness and body shaping. Women can also do Muay Thai exercise with its original technique.

Almost all techniques in Muay Thai use the entire body movement, rotating the hip with each kick, punch, and block. The rotation of the hips in Muay Thai techniques, and intensive focus on "core muscles" (such as abdominal muscles and surrounding muscles) is very distinctive and is what sets Muay Thai apart from other styles of martial arts.

What are The Benefits of Muay Thai Exercise ?

Although born as one of martial arts technique, Muay Thai has been chosen for an alternative exercise, as it has many benefits for our body, such as :

To train our cardiovascular.
To train attacking, self-defense technique and women’s reflex, that is important for women these days.
To train strength and flexibility of women’s muscles and joints.
To burn calories, the same amount as in Aerobics Exercise.
To tone arms, legs, hip and butts muscles.

Learning Muay Thai Technique

v All of Muay Thai technique will use a good and strong vaulting-horse position, such as in Western boxing.

v Vaulting-horse position is standing with one of the legs (usually right leg) in the back, and the other one in front. Lean your body on the front of your feet.

v If in Western boxing, the boxers usually do small jumps in the ring, Muay Thai only needs you to lean on your front feet while doing a little tip toeing to keep your body alarmed and ready to move.

v During the Muay Thai exercise, try to always stick your shoulders on your side-upper part of your face. This pose is important in the real fight to cover your head area from enemy’s attack.

Hope this answer the question :)

HBD Halmi!

It was that time of the year that I decided I wanted to something small yet impactful for my beloved husband on his birthday. This year, I was not alone.

Charles, one of Halmi's good buds had the same idea. So, we joint forces and took the opportunity to gather some nice people to Halmi's birthday.

It was one challenging event for me . This was the third surprising birthday for Halmi & like all of the surprises, he read me like an open book!

But life goes on..

I tried to gathered as many people as I could but unfortunately, a lot couldn't make it. Simply because, it was a Monday night & a school holiday week. Lots of our family and friends couldn't make it. It is was either they were out of town, work demands on the rise on the first working day of the week, or the massive peak hours on the road. So, we made do with the numbers that came.

Kitchen Creatures did a fantastic job on the food. The spicy sun dried tomato pasta was the usual. Yummy as ever. It is one of Halmi's favourite.

The turkey presented in the table look as of we were celebrating Thanksgiving . And the potato gratin was just fabulous. We were all stuffed!

But the highlight of the birthday dinner was the cake. Made with great detail of an iPhone 4/4s, with little cupcakes with each letter spelled "happy birthday", just sweetened that evening. Special thanks to Charles who arranged the carrot cake iPhone with cupcakes.

The evening was good and captured approximately 12 people to the table. My brothers and girlfriend and bestfriend, Mai Mazme Azlyn came and coloured the evening. My hubby's boyz from the IPhoneFiX team also turned up, namely Zaini. His wife was also attended.

It was a great celebration and the evening was simple yet sweet. And Ohh,Guess who enjoyed the most?

Yours truly, our Baby G ..checkout some photos below..

Farewell to Maz!

Magic Macaroons

Do you believe if I told you the SugarWhips’ Macaroons are really magical? Nizie talks about the sugary sweet indulgence that invades T&E Division. They say sharing is caring. So, here are my thoughts.

It was a lovely morning in October 2011. The entire department was busy as usual. From my workstation here on Level 47, I could hear Fatin on the phone taking orders. Yeah that’s right. The petite girl with a big heart has so much to give and share with all of us. Seri, who sits diagonal across me went “Babe, it is so yummylicious!” just broke me out of my thoughts. To stir some excitement I said out loud “Tin!!! It’s to die for. See it melts in the mouth and its better than Harrods’ macaroons. The taste is exquisite!. Checkout the smile carved on Fatin’s face. Priceless.

Seriously speaking, I did not really like macaroons before this. My experience with Harrod’s macs was just way too sweet. Anybody could instantly get diabetes. Lol! But, Fatin changed my perception on this comfort food. The taste, the experience and the packaging was carefully detailed out.

For me, it was magic macaroons.

What caught my attention of these meringue-like cookies is the variety of colours. Come to think of it, at one glance it looks like little mini burgers. Cute and voluptuous from the side.lol! And here I have it on my desk. I first took the salted caramel, which was so mouth watering and brown in colour. Curiosity was killing me, so without a doubt, I just felt the macs melting softly in my mouth. The salty, sweet and little sour just blend nicely as a chewed it. Fatin did a great job in making it less sweet and not comprising on the quality of texture. Caramel is my favourite flavour in the whole wide world! So, mind me if I speak of caramel as if I owned it.

Ok swallowed it but I was craving for more. The merry raspberry was such a turn on. Lol! The pinkish redish colour was just too sexy. You guys should checkout the taste of the lemon cream cheese. The taste transports you to be a teenager and the tangy lemony taste made can make you feel “hey, im cool!“.The praline macaroon on the other hand, made me feel like “ada gaya, mutu & keunggulan”. There is something about elegance and exquisiteness in this macs flavour.

Those who are mocha lovers, check this out, yo! The mocha choca is absolutely divine. It’s like sitting in Starbucks, having an ice-blended mocha and hanging on the 88th floor of PETRONAS Twin Towers. It like wheeee, im on top of the world.Literally!

So people, if you are in doubt or just plainly curious of these magic macaroons, come and taste these little creatures. Visit http://sugarwhips.com to feel the magic inside of you.

I certainly have. What about you ?

Balance Beautifully in 2011- revisited

OMG. This post was initially parked at the wrong blog- my daughter's -- http://aisya-aqila.blogspot.com. So I decided to move this to mine. It has been 1 year late to be posted. Now that I am looking at this post again, I am just disappointed that I failed to realised all my resolutions except running my first and only half marathon. How frustrated I am to know I was way off balanced in 2011.

Past is past. Let's look to the future..,

Old post :
This post is long overdue especially to those who follow me. I have meant to post this right after I completed my post - New Year's Resolution 2011.Revisited.  I guess as we embark in the new year, there are so many things we need to take control once again. So here I am, trying to take control over Resolution No.3.

1. Too spiritually connect to Him mind, body, heart & soul
2. To hope for an offspring for Aisya, Insya Allah
3. To update my blog on average twice a month
4. To continue reading an average of 36 books a year
5. To part take in a Running Bootcamp so I can go Running on the Edge.
6. To impactfully participate in a Half Marathon atleast once this year
7. To diligently monitor all physical fitness activites on http://www.dailymile.com/
8. To diligently monitor healthy food intake while having only 1 cheat day to eat whatever!
9. To be more thrifty in spending and eventually be debt free
10. To cutdown on caffeine drastically.

This year I hope to balance all my priorities beautifully. Wish me luck!!

Warmest & Regards
Nizie

3 Months Late

Ok so finally I decided to make today as my first post of the year. 2012. I'm 3 months behind time. So many things had happened this year and it was moving so fast.

After 3 months in the new year, my mind, body and soul has adapted to my new surroundings. And I took a few days to revive back this blog. It was dusty, old and outdated. So, here it is!

May I present to you the new face of Nizie Speaks About Anything & Everything.

Enjoy the exploration ...

xoxo
